Our classrooms are collaborative and structured to allow students to work at their own pace while their teacher encourages and empowers them to meet goals in their subjects for each 9 week period. We utilize workbook-based, accredited Christian homeschool curriculum.
Ms. Hamilton is passionate about equipping students to become lifelong learners, and supporting educators in powerful instruction - all for the glory of God! She has taught second, third, and fourth grade and was nominated as site and district Teacher of the Year at her previous place of instruction. Ms. Hamilton graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education with a concentration in English Language Learners.
Ms. Leist has been with PCAY almost since its inception, only shy of 2 years. She is one of the reasons the school has grown to what it is today, and her love for this place and its students shines through everything she does. She has been teaching for 20+ years and continues to pour everything she has into making sure our school has what it needs and the students are receiving a Christian education from quality teachers - her being one of them!
Mr. Price is somewhat of a Shiner local celebrity - graduating from Shiner High School as the quarterback and then attending Texas State University to play for the Bobcats for four years. After graduating with his bachelors degree, he went on to teach and coach for the past 30+ years before he landed here at PCAY. We appreciate having a "coach" on campus, and the kids enjoy his comradery and playfulness as he mentors them in the classroom and PE.
We love Ms. T! The fall of 2024 put us through a big scare, where she experienced a major stroke that landed her in the hospital and rehab for months. BUT GOD! She is a whole new woman with a fresh outlook on life, and we are overjoyed that she has recovered and returned to our school - it wouldn't be the same without her! The students love and respect her, and her commitment to this school is unwavering.
In addition to teaching how technology works, Mr. Langhoff is passionate about teaching where technology belongs in our lives. “I believe technology should serve us—not the other way around,” he says. In his classroom, students learn both the skills to use technology well and the wisdom to keep it in its proper place, so it enriches rather than controls their lives. What an important discipline to have. We appreciate Mr. Langhoff's expertise, which has been nothing short of an answered prayer.
It is such a blessing to offer Spanish to our students through the instruction of Mrs. Guajardo! Considering it is her native language, they are immersed in the dialect as they are guided through weekly lessons with her beginning in the 8th grade. We pray that learning Spanish will help prepare them for whatever God calls them to in this world - whether it be college, working, parenting, ministering, or going out into the mission field!
Mrs. Henderson does a little bit of everything for us here at PCAY - from paying the bills, responding to emails, and processing payroll, to leading devotions, subbing, and writing grants. She is thankful to be a part of PCAY, and views it as a ministry opportunity! Support staff keeps things running smoothly, and we are glad to have her here so that our teachers can be with our students and not have to worry about the rest of the day-to-day needs of the school knowing that she has it handled!
PCAY is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and is thankful to have a wonderful Board or Directors that lead us with Christ-like character and make decisions with the best interest of our students in mind.
